Introduction:
The Republic of Yemen is located on the Arabian Peninsula in Southwest Asia. It is bordered to the north by Saudi Arabia, to the south by the Arab Sea and the Gulf of Aden, to the east by the Sultanate of Oman and to the west by the Red Sea. Topographically, Yemen is divided into five regions: (Mountains, Plateaus, Coast, Empty Quarter (Ar-Rub-Alkhali) and Islands), having their own distinctive climate, environment and weather. The Population of Yemen is about 25,956,000 estimates 2005-20141, distributed in 22 governorates in addition to the capital Sana'a, with population growth rate of 3%. Trachoma has been endemic in 11 of the 22 countries in the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMR). Iran, Morocco and Oman

Trachoma is endemic in 50 countries in the world, with 325 million people at risk of blindness disease and it is responsible for visual impairment in 1,2 million people and 3% of blindness globally4.However these numbers keep changing due to the effect of socioeconomic development and current control programme for this disease .The trachoma prevalence is high in poor rural communities in developing countries , particularly in sub-Saharan Africa5.
